I tried a lot of thing without solving the problem. Back to post. What model camcorder is your original footage coming from and what format and resolution is it? What are your project properties?

But rendering video using only the CPU significantly lengthened the rendering time and "rendered" the PC useless for other tasks. I'm running an AMD Athlon 3. I say "ugh" about Windows 8. This will remove garbage files that have built up over time on your computer.

There are two programs you can use. Something that may fix your problem with opening. This restores all settings to default values and removes any customization you may have added.

Doing this often fixes problems and may get your GPU working again. Window will pop up. Select Delete Cache and Yes. Regards Derek.

Hello Derek. I wanted to ask a question if that's not a problem. What seems to be the problem? Hi Christopher This is a complex topic and there is no clear answer. This is the setting you should be using that best matches your Graphics Card.

When this encode mode is used, your Graphics Card will be doing most of the work, so there is no need for the CPU to go any higher. This is perfectly normal. RAM usage also is a complex area. For many average projects, Vegas does not need to use all the RAM that is available - it uses only what it needs. If you rendered to Windows Media Video. Bottom line is you don't have anything to worry about.

This topic has been discussed over and aver again for many years on the Sony Creative Software Forums. There are plenty of old discussions you can search and read on the Sony Forums.

All the best. Derek . I am still using an Nvidia GTX in my own computer and use it all the time for rendering to Mainconcept AVC - it works very, very well and definitely renders faster than my over-clocked Intel ik.

Zen Tip # How To Troubleshoot Problems with Sony Vegas - Closing Words

Thanks: Hi Brian What is located in that exact part of the project on the Vegas timeline? What type of video is located here? Where did it come from? A Video Effect you have applied 2. Type of video you have added to project 3. When it happened to myself recently, it ended up being the type of video I had used, that had been encoded with a non-standard format - it was a video I had recorded with OBS screen capture program.

Regards Derek. Hi Derek, Thanks for your reply. I have not had this freezing problem before. Second, in the 4 attempts I have made to render this project, it has not always frozen at the same spot. Each time though, the video was a m2ts file with ac-3 stereo. No video effects at those points. I have later in the project used some screen capture done with "Debut" and I have used that before with no problem. However the rendering had not got to that part of the project. Third, I have not tried any other method as I do not sufficiently understand.

Was this right or wrong?. It rendered but when completed I had trouble opening the file. I checked that the app was working by loading in a known file and that worked fine. I am attaching some screen shots of what I do. Image 3 is what I selected at your suggestion and image 4 is what comes up when rendering complete.

Thanks again. DErek, Hold the front page! See attached. I made an assumption that you were automatically using the advanced rendering options in the Render As window and not basic Make Movie interface.

I don't recommend anyone use the basic options in the Make Movie window to render their videos. I'm incredibly grateful. Angular Training Project Centers in Chennai. Andrew - glad it was useful. It's a frustrating issue but I've rendered a lot of HD video since applying this fix on 2 different machines that were both crashing previously and they both seem to be working fine now.

LMK if this fix doesn't 'stick' as it will then blow my theory about what is going wrong out the water. Regards - Martin.

I was really getting concerned that I was going to have to upgrade to Vegas Pro, but then I would lose all of my current projects. They are not compatible, I tried on the trial version. Thanks a million! Great stuff.

I have not tried any big projects and haven't had any crashes, but I like to get ahead of things. I got the CFF tool to apply your tweaks. I found that the first file the. Maybe Build has fixed this bug? I'm going to apply the tag to the various DLLs in any case, but interested in hearing from others to see if this has been addressed in the current build.

I was getting that 2gb error all the time and it was crashing. I tried everything I finally figured it out after google searching more. For some reason, Vegas is strange and would freeze up with.

With HDLite, it copys the file to my hard drive in. M2TS file and thankfully, no more rendering issues. Sorry to hear people are still wrestling with this issue but glad that you all seem to be finding ways round it.

I'm still having trouble Should I save these new changes under a slightly new name, then try to move and replace every original file under FileIO Plug-Ins directory? Thanks in advance for the help! This is just a windows permissions issue that you're seeing. It's always worth doing this kind of thing as an admin user but even that doesn't allow this sometimes. The best thing to do is save the file in a different directory.

Then rename the original file to. Finally copy your new file into the original location. This way, if anything goes wrong, you can always get back where you were. The file is an unsupported format. At first I had to find and match all my clips. I even tried opening an 'Untitled' Vegas to import one file to see if it would work, but it didn't.

It's either I can create a video but can't render, or I have the opportunity to render but can't import video files. What happens when you create a new project, save it, close Vegas, start it again and reopen this new project?

I could still save and open a new project but importing clips were still useless. It refused to read them. I even tried converting them to different files but it was still unsuccessful. I ended up re-installing Vegas with the old plug-ins just to be safe, then cut and pasted my video project into small sections of 30 seconds each. There were a total of 98 clips in one project, which was why I was running into the rendering issue. LOL So now I'm just going to keep my projects small, create several renders then add them together as one big file.

My recent video worked well with this new suggestion. It's not good because it's more time-consuming. The weird thing is, on Sony's website, it even states that. I'll definitely try this tutorial again in the future. I performed each step carefully, unfortunately it didn't want to recognize any video file format once the new. The program ran faster and worked like a charm though! Martin - thank you so much! Your instructions worked for me as well - the DLL list is slightly different, but the same concept applies and I am right now rendering an 8MB p30 video that just wouldn't work before!

Much appreciated! Hi, I know you posted this a while ago but I need help with something; I successfully changed and moved all of the. Also, when I opened the converted. Thank you! If this experience can help. Found out that it was a large still image that caused this issue. The memory usage always jumped over 2Go when rendering and reaching this very picture. I had this large image to deeply zoom in and could not resize it because of pixelisation issues.

I finaly rendered this zooming separately and inserted the new movie file in my timeline. I didn't experience any crashes after that. I upgraded to version 12 last summer and Movie Studio Platinum has finally gone bit.

Version 12 is a 64bit program and seems to handle all the memory you throw at it. In version 11 I don't see a way. Followed your guide and even did it for the. DII files that repeated This worked for me perfectly! It doesn't crash anymore. Such a joyous feeling. Thanks again!! I'm sorry the non-working instances with some people here! Or I would try to assist you all. Hopefully you DO get the assistance you need from someone who actually knows the ins and outs of this stuff.

I made a huge mistake and I need help, pls help!!! I am using Movie Studio Platinum I know it's been a while, but hoping the OP is still available. Replies: 6 Last Post: 17th Oct , Replies: 5 Last Post: 11th Jun , By EagleW in forum Editing.
